Some of the more formal roles your PTO provides include:
- Source of communication and information regarding school activities and events
- Promotion of parental involvement
- Elimination of barriers to involvement by coordinated event scheduling etc.
- Promotion of commitment to student readiness
- Fostering relationships between parents, guardians, teachers, specialists etc.
- Promotion of family events
- Support of community involvement
- Promotion of school spirit and pride
The Objectives of the Asheville Middle School PTO as stated in our bylaws:
- To promote the welfare of children and youth in home, school and community.
- To bring into closer relation the home and the school, that parents and teachers may cooperate intelligently in the education of children and youth.
- To develop between educators and the general public such united efforts as will secure for all children and youth the highest advantages in physical, mental and social education.
